Abstract

The purpose of this study was to establish the effect of emotional flooding counselling technique on bullying behaviour of secondary school students in Niger State, Nigeria. The problems of this study was “bullying behaviour which is a serious obstacle that affects students’ academic progress and source behaviour delinquency”. Research questions and hypotheses were stated. The scope covers Tunga and Limawa secondary schools Minna. quasi-experimental design, descriptive and inferential statistics were adopted. The population 1,201 was purposively selected through student’s portfolio and simple random sampling for sample size of 60. Bullying Behaviour Questionnaire was used. Mean score was used to answer research questions and t-test for the test of hypotheses. Findings of the study revealed that the mean response of the bullying students before treatment with emotional flooding counselling technique was higher than the mean response after treatment. It was recommendation that, same study should be repeated to alleviate bullying.
